Dead White Day are an emerging band who were formed in 2014 by Animaan Pathak and Charles Horin. Clones is their debut EP released in November 2016.
Dead White Day describe themselves as a heavy alternative rock band , When starting out in 2014 the duo formed the band as a drummer and bass player. They collectively picked up guitar and started writing songs together. After a search for a singer to accompany them failed Animaan (drums & guitar) started writing vocal melodies which led to Animaan becoming the bands singer.
They have stated that their biggest motivation is that they want something new and fresh to contribute to the music scene. They have found that the biggest obstacle has been the fact there is only two band members as its double the work compared to a 4 band member format , especially when setting up shows to perform live.

Clones starts off with a nifty guitar solo on the song Silhouettes then leads into the first time we hear Animaan and his grunge-like vocals , The sound from Silhouettes gives you a 90’s vibe but with a modern twist. The strongest part of the song comes just after the 3 minute mark with Animaan hitting some emotional vocals followed by a bad-ass solo.
Next up is Metamorphic which starts off more upbeat than Silhouettes then moves onto a melodic chorus backed up with some nice rocking riffs , around the 3 minute mark the songs slows down and we get to hear the different vocal range of Animaan with a great solo to follow.
Next up is Amnesiac and In Stasis , Amnesiac shows off Animaan’s vocals well with some nice highs and lows throughout. The only downside is i feel that in parts Amnesiac is similar to Metamorphic, this is not necessarily a bad thing as we could be just hearing the bands emerging sound , I just feel with the tracks being so close together it would have been nice to hear something different to break the two tracks up.
In Stasis is the final track and is a full instrumental track showing off the bands talents on the instruments that make up the EP.
On a special note Dead White Day have released a new track just two days ago Heed the Crow , which would have been perfect in between Metamorphic and Amnesiac and you can already here the progression of their sound on Heed the Crow i get the feeling from the EP to the new song the band have really discovered how they want to sound and to us it sounds good!
