Korn have returned this year and are back with a bang , releasing The Serenity of Suffering on October 21, 2016. The is the twelfth studio album from the highly acclaimed metal band.

You get the feeling from the singles released that this is the heaviest and most Korn-ish (can we use that?) album we have got from the band for years.

The Album kicks off with Insane , Insane is one of the two tracks we got to hear first when the album was being promoted , Insane gives us those classic Korn riffs and vocals from Jonathan Davis and a freaky video to boot. Next up is Rotting In Vain , Both of the two first tracks on the album give you the reminiscing feeling of an older Korn album such as Issues.

We even get Jonathan Davies going freak on a leash style which has being somewhat missing from newer albums.

Black is the Soul is one of my favorite tracks off The Serenity of Suffering it begins with heavy riffs with a static effect , The clean vocals are well placed as are the gurning emotional lyrics. The song is well balanced and shows Korn’s experience in writing top notch metal songs.

The Hating is up next , The song starts with some lull-full emotional lyrics , then we are hit with some heavy riffs scatish lyrics and screams, The hating is a solid track and works well within the album.

 A Different World Korn team up with Slipknot and Stone Sours leading front man Corey Taylor. When this song was announced i admit i was pumped to here these legends together but i feel its missing something , the pacing of the track just feels slightly off , Still worth a listen just not the strongest track on the album.

Take Me This is where Korn take the foot off the gas in my opinion , Take me just sounds a little lazy and the chorus is disappointing. Everything Fall Apart  By now you will be getting used to the Korn format and this song tries nothing different its a solid Korn track but you just feel that you have heard all this before.

The rest of the tracks on the album follow the same trend , When the album gets up to Take me it falls off point a little , Maybe its because the first 4 songs are that good the rest of the album cannot live up to them ?
