The Baltimore rockers Megosh serve up a new album a follow up to 2014’s Body Works EP. This is their first full-length album. Apostasy is a impressive effort for their first full run out. You can see the progression from Body Works and the outcome is sweet to our ears.
The album kicks off with Checkerboards & Cigarettes which is to be the second single from the album. The song starts with a funky riff and sinister laugh , then slows down to melodic song full of highs and lows. I Stole From The Dead Was the first single released off Apostasy and plays with more electronics than Checkerboards & Cigarettes and mixes soft and heavier vocals together front man Josh Grosscup is one of the main highlights of this album his vocal range is amazing and deserves a large amount of credit for the sound of this album, his vocals are reminiscent of a merge between Patrick Stump and Jonny Craig.
Apostasy seems to take you by surprise from track to track there seems to be something new for our ears , one minute you listing to slow harmonic tunes the next a fast upbeat tempo then a guitar riff , this really shows the bands versatility. The two song highlights for me are Desperada and Waste of Me.
Overall this is a very strong debut album and is well worth multiple listens as the replay value is fantastic. Megosh have took the foundations of Body Works and created a fantasic debut album with Apostasy , I just hope they get the credit and air time they deserve.
