Of Mice & Men guitarist Alan Ashby has commented on the circumstances around Austin Carlile leaving the band.

Austin recently claimed that one of the reasons he left was that “…they weren’t going to let me write what I wanted on next record.”

“That’s not gonna happen,” he continued. “I will write what I want despite what that means giving up.”

Now, Alan has responded.

“JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET DOES NOT MAKE IT TRUE #ALTERNATIVEFACTS“, he tweeted.

Then, after a fan commented that “people are saying Aaron [Pauley, bass / vocals] kicked Austin out of the band due to the fact Austin wanted more religious lyrics involved,” he added:

“Guys. Nobody kicked anybody out. Austin has always used religious influences in his lyrics. Stop making shit up! #AlternativeFacts”

Of Mice & Men will play a series of festival shows this year, including an appearance at Download Festival – which takes place at Donington Park from June 09 – 11.
